Why Doggy Daycare?

Doggy daycares are up and coming in the United States. It’s no secret that we don’t spend as much time with "Fido" as we’d like. With all of our schedules getting busier and busier, we can only hope that our dogs are having fun alone at home. Some are very content with being alone, but let’s face it, a lot of them aren’t. If you have been on the fence about bringing your dog to daycare, here are a few reasons as to why you should give it a go.

SOCIALIZATION SKILLS

Getting your dog used to being around others as early as you can, can help their behavior incredibly. Your dog will learn how to behave properly at appropriate times and how to play nicely with other dogs in public places.

ENERGY RELEASE/ EXERCISE

As I had mentioned earlier, some dogs are content with being home and resting all day. Depending on the breed though, many dogs need to get out and release some of the energy they build throughout the night. Running around, playing fetch, and wrestling with other dogs is a great way for them to get the exercise they need to be healthy.

LONELINESS

Separation anxiety can be a huge issue for dogs and their owners. Bringing them to daycare will give them the human contact and attention they need to feel comfortable. Playtime with other dogs gives them entertainment to help them forget that you are not around. Our volunteers also provide comfort and security with extra kisses and snuggles.

EVERYDAY NECESSITIES

Working full time, raising a family, participating in social activities can severely limit the time we have to go home and let Fido out to use the bathroom, feed him, and give medicine if need be. Spending your lunch break doing this affects your own personal time to complete your own needs. Here at daycare they have access to use the bathroom at all times so they will never have to hold it. By request, we can also feed your dog and medicate it at requested times.

IT DOESN’T BREAK THE BANK

Whether you bring your dog once a week or once a month, you will find that the price is always worth it. For an entire day of daycare at Paws and Paw Paws, it is just $25. For 4 hours or less, it is $15. If you know you will be bringing Fido many times we even offer discounted package rates! Don’t forget, the first day of daycare is free so it’s always a perfect time to come check us out!
